Why are you learning it?
- To apply knowledge from math and science to real world situations.
- To learn why certain shapes are used in building.
- To apply graphing and symmetry. (drawings)
- Cutting & gluing (model building skills)

Mousetrap Vehicles
1. What are you learning?
problem solving, simple machines, wood working, and machine safety.
2. Why are you learning it?
You will need these skills to be successful in life
3. How will the teacher know what you have learned?
You will design a car powered by a mousetrap. The car will be tested against other cars in the class. The winner will be the group that designs the car that travels the furthest distance.

· We are constantly faced with problems in life; most do not have 1 correct solution.
· To learn to think instead of memorize.
· The primary intellectual activity in which we engage is problem solving.
· Employees in corporations are hired, retained, and rewarded for solving problems.
3. How will the teacher know what you have learned?
· I will demonstrate problem solving skills by coming up with an original solution to the problem, testing it, evaluating the results and re-testing any changes I make.
